Medescribe Prescription Medicines
Medescribe, is an independent medical agency regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA). The project was a joint venture in online medical screening, which has resulted in business with National pharmacy association (NPA) and Alliance Healthcare.

The company required a technology based solution to enable pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to offer a far greater number of Patient Group Direction (PGD) authorised services than has previously been the case.
Blueberry took over their existing system, rebranded it, and added a way for Medescribe to write scripts which the system then runs to check that the patient is eligible for the medicines.
The service now offers a broad and quality assured online service that allows patients access to a full range of medicines without the need to make an appointment with their GP and without the need to have a prescription in hand.
Most of the medicines are prescribed under PGDs and pharmacists have to complete training before they are given access to a product.
